This was probably one of the most useful and relevant courses I've ever been on. I would have really liked to be able to continue with the one-to-one coaching. That would be an incredible commitment to professional development for women leaders and I suspect would make a massive difference in terms of getting women to the top and keeping them there.
- Sandler Consulting launched the Senior Women’s Impact Programme (SWIP) in 2008 in response to the needs of our female Director and Board-level coachees. It was one of the earliest bespoke programmes available to women leaders in the UK.
- Further demand led to the creation of the Talented Women’s Impact Programme (TWIP). This is designed for high-potential women in mid-career whose performance is already strong and who aspire to move on to senior roles.
- Both programmes are innovative, intensive small-group events involving workshops, a high level of individual attention and hand-picked reading and video material. A powerful set of concepts and behavioural models are combined with the development of practical new skills.
- The numerous organisations that have sent delegates to SWIP and TWIP or commissioned in-house programmes include Ernst & Young, John Lewis, Lloyds Banking Group, Co-operative Bank, Baker McKenzie, Paypal, the Wellcome Sanger Institute and the BBC.
- The programmes are led by Rachel Goodwin and Jani Rubery.
- Areas of focus include:
- Identifying and leveraging signature strengths
- Building emotional resilience
- Transforming communication skills
- Handling a range of interpersonal, managerial and organisational challenges with confidence and skill
- SWIP and TWIP are now mainly offered as in-house programmes. This shift reflects high demand over the past five years by businesses wishing to support the career progression of high-potential women and increase female promotion to senior roles.
- The in-house format has proved extremely successful as it enables us to customise the programme to meet the specific needs and budget of each client.
- When several TWIP groups are run in the same organisation (in some cases over 100 women have participated) participants benefit from the resulting internal support network. In several cases there has also been an observable impact on culture and attitudes at a systemic level.
